Being 1 is awesome!

I spent some time with Mr. S, who I did newborn pictures for last year, for his 1st birthday. I have a TON more to edit, but here are a handful. I just had to share! I adore doing these repeat sessions and seeing the kiddos grow up, watching their personalities develop. It's really the best part of the job!

Toward the end, S was getting a little tired and started playing with his sunglasses, a favor from his first birthday party, but he couldn't quite figure out how to put them on.

Motorcycle man

One trick for keeping a 2-year-old occupied while shooting portraits? Props! Mr. A looks like a little man here on his trike and wearing a motorcycle jacket. Love it!

Miss M and Mr. C

 
Today I had a shoot with Miss M and her big brother C -- you might remember them from her baptism back in February. I've only edited a couple so far, but aren't these kids so cute?

A second shoot with the C family

A few weeks ago, I had a chance to shoot the C family, whom I'd done 1-year portraits with last summer. In the meantime, Miss D had gained a new little brother, C. It was so great to work with them again and capture this special time in their family's history.

I got to catch up with my friend C a couple of weeks ago, which was a blast. We hadn't seen each other in ages, and lots has changed since then. We got together to create some headshots for her, and the results -- and the session -- were a lot of fun! Check out that smile!

I had a fun session on Labor Day with some friends I've shot before. Miss J has grown up so much in the past few months! At the very end, we were wrapping up, and I was about to pack up when I turned and noticed this sweet scene. So glad the camera was still out!
